P1010138.JPG - One reason for using rainwater. I recently replaced the heating element in the hot water heater. There was 11kg of accumulated solid limestone in the bottom of the heater; it took over an hour to break it up with a crowbar into small enough pieces to remove and rinse out. The element was encased in it. That's how hard the water is here.
